Pavel Datsyuk scored his first goal in the KHL on Thursday (well, the first one that counted, anyway, and wasn't directed in with his head). And it was a classic Pavel Datsyuk goal that involved a great defensive play turning into a scoring chance and, ultimately, a goal.
Watch as he steals the puck at the blue line and then cuts into the middle of the ice, uses the defender as a screen and fires a quick wrist shot into the back of the net.
It would be easy to write that off as one of the NHL's best players dominating lesser competition. But let's keep in mind he regularly pulls off those types of plays against NHL competition, too.
