The good news is the NHL and NHLPA are meeting Wednesday and Thursday.
The bad news is they aren't expected to discuss core economic issues, and if the past few weeks of talks have shown us anything it's that these latest discussions probably won't result in much progress, if any. Expectations should probably remain low.
In advance of Wednesday's meeting in New York, TSN's Darren Dregger tweeted that improved ice conditions are on the list of things the NHLPA wants to see addressed.
Obviously, that's probably not going to be the big topic to swing momentum in these discussions to bring this pointless situation to an overdue end, and it was greeted with a lot of cynicism.
What else is on that list of things the NHLPA wants to see? Hockey fans on Twitter had some suggestions with the #otherNHLPAdemands hashtag ...
