Reports surfaced on Tuesday afternoon that St. Louis Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak could soon be joining Spartak Moscow of the KHL due to the NHL lockout.

According to his agent, Allan Walsh, those reports were not accurate and Halak will soon be announcing his plans.

He was part of the two-headed goaltending monster in St. Louis this past season and teamed up with Brian Elliott to win the William M. Jennings Trophy, which is given to the team that allows the fewest goals in the NHL. The Blues allowed just 165 goals on their way to their first division title since 1999-00.

Halak appeared in 46 games for the Blues and posted a 26-12-7 record and a .926 save percentage. It was the best season of his career.

The Blues acquired Halak prior to the 2011-12 season after he backstopped the surprising Montreal Canadiens to the Eastern Conference Final as a No. 8 seed.

He and Elliott were great for the Blues, but they also had a lot of help from the skaters in front of them. The Blues, under the coaching of Ken Hitchcock, were one of the best possession teams in the league (as most Ken Hitchcock teams are) and as a result allowed the fewest shots in the NHL at just 26.7 per game. During 5-on-5 play they allowed just 26 shots per 60 minutes which was one of the lowest totals in the league over the past few years.
