Artem Anisimov with highlight reel goal in KHL (video)

By Adam Gretz | Hockey writer

Artem Anisimov is one of the new players in Columbus who will have the task of trying to replace Rick Nash following the offseason trade with the New York Rangers.

Anisimov is suiting up for Yaroslavl Lokimotiv of the KHL during the lockout, and he's off to a strong start with eight goals and 14 assists in his first 27 games. One of those goals came earlier this week, and it was a highlight-reel goal against Neftekhimik in a 3-1 win.

Have a look as he dekes and dangles his way through a defender and somehow slips the puck in past the goaltender along the ice.

Anisimov was acquired from the Rangers along with Brandon Dubinsky and Tim Erixon over the summer when the Blue Jackets finally completed the long-rumored Nash trade. He has scored 46 goals in 244 career games, including 16 during the 2011-12 season.

He's a talented player, probably a little underrated, and should be a solid addition to a lineup that needs as much young talent as it can get. Throughout the first three years of his career, Anisimov has shown an ability to keep the play moving up the ice and be a strong possession player while also putting up solid point totals -- doing so against tough competition.
