Look out, Los Angeles Kings, you're not the only NHL team that knows how to use social media to your advantage.

On Tuesday morning, the Dallas Cowboys responded to a fan on Twitter with another version of the old "nobody cares about hockey" schtick.

The Dallas Stars were not impressed and fired back with the tweet of the year (so far).

It was accompanied by a picture of Mike Modano (the Stars' legendary No. 9) holding the Stanley Cup after the 1999 season.

You see, it's funny because the Cowboys' No. 9 (quarterback Tony Romo) always hilariously messes up in crucial situations.

The Cowboys deleted the tweet and issued an apology for an inappropriate tweet that was "accidentally" sent out. In other words: They realized they looked like idiots.
