Video: Tampa Bay Lightning's awesome 50-foot HD display board

By Chris Peters | Hockey Writer

The Tampa Bay Lightning already have one of the National Hockey League's best on the ice in Steven Stamkos. Now it has the league's best above the ice.

The Tampa Bay Times Forum is now home to the largest center-hung arena video display board in the U.S. or Canada. The two largest displays are 28 feet high and 50 feet long. The screens facing the end zones are also 28 feet high, but 20 feet tall. The board displays video in true high definition with 1,296 lines of resolution.

The board was privately funded by Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and cost $5 million, and it's glorious. The video display comes just a year after spending $42 million in transforming the Forum.
