The NHL Daily Fix is your morning wakeup call with news and notes for the day's hockey action.

Morning Buzz

If you were watching hockey action Monday night, you likely missed the brief cameo by Hall of Famer and Kings executive Luc Robitaille on How I Met Your Mother. If you watch the show, the Robin Sparkles 4 episode might go down as one of your favorites because of the cameos like Robitaille.

If you haven't watched the show, well, it's not too late. Ted hasn't met the mother yet.

The Minnesota Wild are 4-4-1 to start the season. That's not so bad, right? Well, it's bad enough that they held their first players-only meeting of the season after Monday night's 2-1 loss in Phoenix. (Minneapolis Star-Tribune)

Here's some great news for the New York Islanders: Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky is expected to finally report to the team on Wednesday. (Newsday)

And here's some great news for the Vancouver Canucks: Injured center Ryan Kesler has started taking part in full practices and traveling with the team. Alain Vigneault says he doesn't expect it will take many practices for Kesler to be ready to play. (The Province)

The Toronto Maple Leafs lost at home Monday night. Again. They are just 1-4 on home ice this season and 3-12-3 going back to Feb. 11 of last season. Just so you know, that's really bad. Chris Johnston takes a look at the home woes. (Sportsnet)

Remember how John Erskine of the Capitals got a three-game suspension for elbowing Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds? Erskine didn't think it was a reckless play. But his thoughts matter little after the verdict has been handed down. (Washington Times)

While you might have been sleeping, the Ducks were busy handing the Sharks their first regulation loss this season with a 2-1 win. The tough start in net for Anaheim went to Viktor Fasth and he continued his excellent start. Eric Stephens with a little more on the old rookie. (O.C. Register)
