At the end of the Maple Leafs-Canadiens game Saturday night, a 6-0 drubbing by Toronto, things got a big ugly and the fangs apparently came out. Or not. It's really hard to tell if Pacioretty was bitten by Grabovski in a scrum as he claims, but the league is going to try and find out anyway.
It's difficult to tell if Grabovski actually did bite Pacioretty in the scrum. Unless the Habs took photographic evidence of teeth marks on Pacioretty's arm, it is almost impossible to present any visual evidence. (UPDATE: According to John Shannon, the Habs did exactly that.)
It might come down to a he said/he said scenario for Shanahan. But the immediate reaction of Pacioretty is a bit telling. Of course, it's probably not a good idea to wrap your hand around a guy's mouth either.
You hear often that the last place you want to be is the bottom of a pile after a fumble in football, but a hockey scrum is no picnic. At least it's not supposed to be.
