Video: Matt Duchene scores thanks to horrible missed offside call

There have been a lot of missed or botched calls in the NHL in this young season, but we may have a new grand champion.

At 3:18 of the second period in Monday afternoon's game between the Colorado Avalanche and the Nashville Predators, the Avalanche took a 3-1 lead on a goal off the stick of Matt Duchene.

Duchene had a clear path to the net and had no trouble beating Chris Mason with a quick shot. Only problem? Duchene was clearly several feet offside. The linesmen inexplicably missed the call even though the puck was clearly following Duchene into the zone.

An offside call leading to a goal is not video reviewable. So the goal stood, giving the Avs a nice little two-goal cushion at that point in the game.
