Ryan Suter made his first appearance in Nashville as a member of the Wild on Saturday night, and his former fans did not welcome him back with open arms during Minnesota's 2-1 shootout win.

They booed him. A lot. Every single time he touched the puck actually, and he admitted after the game he was "a little hurt" by that reception.

Suter, a first-round pick by the Predators back in 2003, spent the first seven years of his career in Nashville and was a huge part of the team's regular season success during that time.

He was an unrestricted free agent this past summer and signed a 13-year contract, along with Zach Parise, with the Wild.

Many times when a longtime player makes a return to their former city the team will do some sort of a video tribute on the scoreboard. The Predators did not do that on Saturday. Predators coach Barry Trotz said the team decided not to do that because it didn't want to put Suter in an awkward position (they had to know he was going to get booed).

Suter definitely made an impact in the game.

He played 29 minutes, recorded two shots on goal on eight attempts (six were blocked), and assisted on Minnesota's lone goal in regulation, a shot from the point that was tipped in by Parise.

He was also serving a two-minute penalty when Nashville scored its only goal of the game in the third period.
