On Monday night Ottawa Senators forward Kaspars Daugavins made the hockey world laugh with his zany shootout attempt against the Boston Bruins.

Doing it in a tiebreaking skills competition when it's you vs. the goalie and nobody else is on the ice is one thing. But what if a player tried to score on a breakaway during an actual game by pushing the puck up the ice with the tip of his blade?

Well, former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Phil Bourque once did it in a game against the Detroit Red Wings back in 1990, a game the Penguins won, 4-1. And it did not amuse the Red Wings.
