Jovochef: Panthers captain creates own burger for good cause

This season has done nothing but bite for Ed Jovanovski and the Florida Panthers, so he might as well make something tasty out of it.

Jovocop, the Panthers captain who returned before last season to the team that originally drafted him, has had a little free time so he has become Jovochef. Constant injuries have kept him shelved and instead of terrorizing his own kitchen, he decided to terrorize the kitchen at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, Fla. It's for a good cause, I should add.

Jovanovski was invited into the kitchen to come up with his own burger. The result was the Jovo Burger -- cleverly named, I must say -- 10 ounces of Angus beef, fresh spinach, caramelized onions, ground sausage, sautéed jalapeños, tomato and, of course, cheddar cheese. That's a bit of a smorgasbord one on burger, but I doubt it's lacking in taste.

The Jovo Burger will be available for a limited time at the Hard Rock with $2 from every purchase going to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. So not only do you get a good burger but you help a good cause. It's a win-win.

Now if only the Panthers could find some of those wins, they'd be onto something.
