Leave it to a Finn named Teemu to do something awesome on the ice.

Oilers prospect Teemu Hartikainen scored an awfully purdy goal over the weekend for the Oklahoma City Barons. He dangled between his legs while crossing the crease, making it look like he was going to pull a Datsyuk. It sure looked like the goalie thought that.

Hartikainen then changed up the script and passed it up to himself between the legs and finished with a backhander above the glove.

As I said, that was a beaut.

Now you can wonder all day long why Hartikainen was able to get in front of the net with nary a Rockford Ice Hogs defenseman in the vicinity -- certainly a reasonable query -- but let's just enjoy this for what it was and not ask such obvious questions.

Must be something about the name.

Hartikainen was taken 163th overall in the 2008 draft by the Oilers. He has played 48 NHL games, including 19 this season. He has six goals and seven assists (one goal, two assists this season) to show for it.
