Through two periods Monday night it seemed like things were going James van Riemsdyk's way. He scored a goal for the Maple Leafs and provided a great screen on Henrik Lundqvist for a Phil Kessel snipe.

But it wasn't all going JVR's way. He was also called for a tripping penalty (Rangers defenseman Anton Stralman went down on the play) and, well, it was a bit suspect.

OK, we'll call a spade a spade: That's some pretty big embellishment there from Stralman. He sold it enough to get the penalty, but JVR barely touched Stralman's shin, and he went down as if JVR gave him a two-hand slash. He even sold it all the way to the limp back to the bench.

It was a dive that could land Stralman on the next season of Splash -- if there is a second season (do people really watch that?). That would have been worth a few 9.5s and maybe a stray 10.

Let's figure out this diving issue somehow. It just looks so bad.
