The Penguins and Bruins are scheduled to play in Boston on Friday night but that game suddenly appears to be in jeopardy due to the ongoing police situation taking place in and around the city.

The city is all but shutdown as police continue to search for the second Boston Marathon bombing suspect, and as a result, both teams have canceled their morning skates. Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that the Penguins were told to remain in their hotel for the time being.

There is no official word yet from the league if Friday's game will take place, but it's safe to say hockey is probably the last thing on the minds of people in Boston.

Boston had its game on Monday night against the Senators postponed due to the marathon bombings. That game was rescheduled for April 28, extending the NHL's regular season by one day.
