The playoff race is hitting its stretch run and emotions are really starting to run high in games. That's what happened at the end of Thursday's Blue Jackets-Kings game when Columbus forward Brandon Dubinsky was given a match penalty for this incident involving Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty.

Update: The NHL has rescinded the match penalty.

It all starts shortly after the final buzzer with a skirmish behind the net.

Doughty appears to join the scrum and give the initial shot to Dubinsky (at roughly the seven-second mark). Dubinsky then responds by giving Doughty a shot of his own (the 13-second mark) and then pushing his face down into the ice.

That was enough to get a match penalty for intent to injure.

When asked about the incident, Kings forward Kyle Clifford told Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, "Just a cheap shot, and that's his personality. We've got guys out there and he goes after Doughty, who is not our toughest player."
