When it came to the game on the ice Saturday in Boston, one of the most interesting aspects was to see how the Bruins and their fans would greet Jarome Iginla after he chose to be traded to Pittsburgh instead of Boston.

Neither took to him kindly. Iginla was routinely booed when he touched the puck and accepted a challenge to fight from Nathan Horton. Although "fight" isn't really an accurate description.

A total of two punches were thrown, both by Horton. It was mostly just a wrestling match.

Even worse for the Bruins, though, is Horton left the ice in apparent discomfort and the team announced he wouldn't return for the rest of the game.

Talk about a wasted exercise. There didn't seem to be anything in the game that precipitated a fight with Iginla. Well, maybe it was the usual "sending a message" type of move. The result was Iginla getting perhaps a minor blow from a Horton punch and five minutes in the penalty box.

Horton left injured. Doesn't seem like a worthwhile trade.

Horton has been disappointing of late for the Bruins, recently being dropped down the lines, though not quite as disappointing as Milan Lucic, who was a healthy scratch on Saturday. Horton has 13 goals and nine assists in 42 games this season.
