For the second time in four games this series, the Red Wings and Ducks found themselves in overtime.

Similar to the first time around, Gustav Nyquist played a central role in helping Detroit earn a hard-fought victory in the extra frame.

Despite being stymied for much of the game by Anaheim netminder Jonas Hiller, the Red Wings started to break through in the latter stages of the game, earning a pair of goals in the third period to force overtime.

With a little under five minutes to play in the first overtime, Nyquist displayed his tremendous speed by drawing two defensemen to him as he streaked into the Anaheim zone. Hiller successfully poke-checked the puck away from the hard-charging Nyquist, but it bounced right off Bryan Allen who could not stop his momentum from taking him behind the net. The puck then bounced off Hiller's pad and right to Damien Brunner who easily shoveled it past the sprawled-out Ducks goalie.

Nyquist, who scored the OT winner in Game 2 for Detroit, made an incredible effort to turn on the jets and force both defensemen to try to make a play on him really opened things up for Brunner.

Brunner also gets a lot of credit for showing patience and putting himself in a good position to bury the second chance off the rebound. Even though it wasn't a run-of-the-mill rebound, having pinballed around in front of Hiller, Brunner was right where he needed to be and had an easy look at the net.

Brunner's goal knotted the series at two games apiece and should give the Red Wings some much needed momentum after a lackluster performance in Game 3.
