After a week of speculation, forward Jason Spezza will be returning to the Ottawa Senators lineup on Sunday for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, coach Paul MacLean announced on Saturday.

Spezza practiced with the Senators' top line on Saturday and told reporters later in the day he feels ready to play, doctors have told him he's good to go, and that he's excited to have the opportunity to get back on the ice.

He's been out of the lineup since Jan. 27 due to a back injury.

He scored two goals to go with three assists in five games this season.

The Senators could certainly use his offense, especially now that they're facing a 2-0 series deficit. They were one of the lowest scoring teams in the NHL this season without him and he's definitely one of their best players. The concern is how much he'll actually be able to contribue after missing so much time and coming back from a major injury. As defenseman Erik Karlsson has shown at times during this series, coming back from injury isn't always easy.
