Sweden won gold at the World Championships on Sunday, taking out Switzerland in the final on their home ice. It was Sweden's first gold at the event since 2006, and it sent the country into party mode.

Think that's an exaggeration? It's not. Just check out this view of the crowd at the celebration as tweeted by goaltender Jacob Markstrom. Sure looks like a party to me.

The next time somebody tries to tell you the World Championships are meaningless, tell them to talk to the fine folks of Stockholm.

Here is a list of the players to win gold for Sweden that play for NHL teams.

Jhonas Enroth, Sabres
Jacob Markstrom, Panthers
Henrik Tallinder, Devils
Alexander Edler, Canucks
Erik Gustafsson, Flyers
Loui Eriksson, Stars
Daniel Sedin, Canucks
Henrik Sedin, Canucks
Gabriel Landeskog, Avalanche

Lastly, here is a collage of awesomeness put together by Hockey Webcast.
