The Detroit Red Wings are the talk of the NHL right now, and everybody in the Motor City is in on the fun.
That includes Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. He spent some time riding the Zamboni during a recent home playoff game against the Blackhawks and then received an introduction to Detroit's greatest playoff tradition: The octopus.
Because, well, why not?
Fans throwing an octopus on the ice at Red Wings games goes back to the 1950s, when it required eight wins in the playoffs to win the Stanley Cup. Each tentacle on the octopus was to represent a win.
