CHICAGO -- The Bruins and Blackhawks headed to triple overtime in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night but it almost didn't happen. Really, it came this close to ending in the closing seconds of the second overtime.
The Bruins found themselves on the rare overtime power play after the Blackhawks were whisted for too many men on the ice -- their such infraction beyond regulation in the game. That's when Zdeno Chara blasted the puck toward the net and it was deflected by Jaromir Jagr past Corey Crawford. Only it didn't go in. Some how.
I'll tell you what, there probably hasn't been a player more hard up for luck in the playoffs than Jagr. The guy just can't buy a goal. He is yet to score one in the playoffs but he's had so many close calls. What's one more to the list?
