BOSTON -- With his team trying to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole in the Stanley Cup Final, Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville seems prepared to reunite Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane on the same line for Game 4 on Wednesday night.

The two have rarely played together at even-strength over the first three games of the series against Boston but were back on a line with Bryan Bickell during Chicago's pre-game skate at TD Garden on Wednesday.

With Marian Hossa expected to return, he is likely to play alongside Patrick Sharp and Michal Handzus. Jamal Mayers skated on that line in Hossa's spot during the morning skate.

Quenneville's decision to separate Kane and Toews at the start of the series was a little surprising given how much success the duo had once they were placed on the same line at the end of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Kings. It was perhaps the best hockey either player played during the entire postseason, with Kane scoring four goals over the final two games of the series, including a hat trick in the series-clinching win.

"They exited the Los Angeles series on a high note," Quenneville said on Wednesday. "Hopefully getting back together they can continue that."

Chicago can certainly use a spark offensively after scoring just five goals over the first three games. The Blackhawks were shutout in Game 3.
