While the Boston Bruins were without Patrice Bergeron for their morning skate before Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday, the Chicago Blackhawks did have their top center as Jonathan Toews was on the ice.

After the skate, Toews said it was the best morning skate that he has had this series and that he'll be playing.

"I feel great," Toews said. "No questions about where I am physically. ... I feel 100 percent."

Just in case it needed any more confirmation, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville gave it.

"He's 100-percent ready to go." Can't be more clear than that, now can it?

Toews did not play in the third period of Chicago's Game 5 win after he was hit in the head by Boston's Johnny Boychuk. It was a controversial play that did not result in a penalty or any supplemental discipline from the league.

The Blackhawks called the injury "an upper body injury."

"It was a couple hits that I took that I guess the coaches thought I wasn't ready to play in the third period," Toews said Monday morning. "The coaches were confident we could win the game while making sure I wasn't risking anything."

Though Toews did not play the final period of Game 5 the Blackhawks said on Sunday they were optimistic that their captain would be available for Monday's game.

If they win on Monday the Blackhawks will win the Stanley Cup for the second time in four years.
