Andrew Ference figured to be a wanted man in free agency and if the speed in which he signed is any indication, he was.

The former Bruins defenseman signed with the Edmonton Oilers for four years and $13 million. That's a $3.25 million salary cap hit.

The Oilers have long been trying to find some fixes to their blue line and this one will go a long way. Ference is a veteran who has been on championship teams. It gives them a little time to help the young players grow. He's 34 but he can still play and a four-year deal isn't a bad gamble.

In one of the best tweets you'll see today, Ference sent this from his account. How cute.
