The St. Louis Blues announced on Saturday that they have agreed to terms with free-agent center Derek Roy to a one-year contract that will pay him $4 million.

Roy spent the 2012-13 season split between the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks, scoring seven goals to go with 21 assists.

He was traded to the Canucks just before the deadline but was a pretty big disappointment over the final 12 games of the regular season and their postseason series against the San Jose Sharks.

That disappointing performance aside, Roy has still put up pretty solid numbers throughout his career and could still help a team that needs an upgrade offensively.

The Blues were one of the top teams in the Western Conference last season but struggled offensively. Over the past two years they've finished 17th and 21st in the league in goal scoring.
