If you ever wanted to go into a war room before a draft, the Philadelphia Flyers are taking you there. They are showing a brief behind-the-scenes series on their site this summer called "Flight Plan" and on Tuesday night the first episode premiered, dealing with the ranking of the prospects prior to the draft.
Anytime you can see behind the scenes it's cool, that's why there has been such a proliferation of these types of shows in hockey in recent years. This is no exception. While we don't get the whole scope of the conversation as every name ont he board is blurred by Samual Morin, the Flyers' first-round draft pick, it's interesting to see them debate the merits of some of the high-end prospects, why they ended up valuing Morin so highly.
I was a bit surprised -- in a good way -- that they showed so much debating and questioning about the guy the Flyers eventually picked. This is what you get when it's truly behind the scenes.
