Jaromir Jagr didn't hesitate much on if he was going to come back for another season, signing with the New Jersey Devils for one season earlier this summer. The 42-year-old showed last season he still has some in the tank and wasn't ready to hang up the skates.
However what little he has left in that tank might be spent this season. On his Facebook page Jagr talked about his workout and training while throwing in this little line into the post (translation via TSN).
"It looks like it will be my last season, so I can't be too risky."
Not sure I quite get the logic, I'd think if it were your last season you could be riskier, you got nothing to lose, right? Then again, perhaps Jagr wouldn't want to miss his farewell tour.
You never can be quite sure with things that Jagr says. He keeps himself in incredible shape and could continue to play if he wanted to. He had a goalless postseason in Boston but he had a pretty good regular season, scoring 14 goals with 12 assists in 34 games with Dallas before being traded to Boston.
By the way here's a thought; if Teemu Selanne does come back for one last season and then both he and Jagr call it quits, that's going to be one amazing Hall of Fame class in a few years regardless of who else might join them.
