How can you tell that hockey season is almost here? Ice is going down in an arena near you.

Maybe it's just me but it feels like more than ever teams are giddy about sharing the ice-making process with fans and specifically the painting part. But watching paint dry is still watching paint dry as the Flyers proved to a handful of fans who actually attended in person. It's exciting because it's a reminder the season beckons but ... ah who am I kidding, it's not all that exciting.

Thanks to the St. Louis Blues, you can see the process at Scottrade Center in ludicrous speed thanks to a time-lapse video. It's a lot more fun that way.

Now we're ready for some hockey.
