The Florida Panthers announced a one-year deal with goalie Tim Thomas on Thursday worth a reported $3 million to $4 million.

"Tim is a proven winner who we are pleased to have signed,” Panthers GM Dale Tallon said. "He is a fierce competitor who brings to our club a wealth of experience, including a Stanley Cup championship, two Vezina trophies, and a Conn Smythe," he said.

Thomas helped the Bruins win the 2011 Stanley Cup, posting a 16-9 playoff record and a 1.98 GAA. Thomas, a four-time all-star (most recently in 2012), is 39. In 378 career games, all with the Bruins, he earned a record of 196-121-45.
