Zach Bogosian is a good defenseman, good enough to be considered for the American Olympic team, earning an invitation to the team's Orientation Camp before the season began.
Zach Bogosian also had an awful, awful play on Sunday night. Really, really awful.
With the Jets knotted up with the Ducks 2-2 late in the third period, Bogosian did something rather ordinary, he tried to send a pass up ice from behind his own net. Only he whiffed on the pass, leaving it float right to Corey Perry a few feet in front of Ondrej Pavelec. Of course he didn't miss from there. It was the deciding goal in the game.
It's not fun to revel in somebody's misfortune, but I just can't help but watch this play over and over again. It's painful yet mesmerizing. Thanks SBNation GIFs.
The highlight of the night for the people in Winnipeg was getting to see Teemu Selanne one more time, sending him off with a standing ovation. Bogosian unfortunately provided the lowlight. I wouldn't want to get up after that if I were him either.
