You know a lot of hockey players don't have teeth. It's one of those stereotypes about hockey that is actually true.
After taking a puck to the face, Islanders captain John Tavares, who wears a shield and a mouth guard had a little loose change in his mouth. So he went ahead and did what any self-respecting hockey player would do. He yanked the loose tooth right out of his mouth on the bench and continued playing the game.
You might note that it appears the athletic trainer tending to Tavares already has teeth in his hand. Tavares lost multiple teeth, at least one of which he removed himself.
Hockey. Also, gross!
