VIDEO: Matt Duchene's behind-the-net spin leads to pretty goal

Matt Duchene is having a really great year. He's had a couple of highlight-reel goals already and seven total so far. His goal Friday night is another example as to why he's been one of the league's most exciting players this young season.

After collecting a feed from Ryan O'Reilly off the back wall behind Carolina's net, Duchene saw an opening. To get there faster, he spun behind the net to get the puck to his forehand and shoveled it inside the right post and through Hurricanes goalie Justin Peters.

If ever there was a poster goal for why that little bit of extra room behind the shallower nets helps offense, this is it. What an incredible play in tight quarters with a low-percentage move. Duchene absolutely froze Riley Nash on the play, too. It just all happens so fast.

This Avalanche team has been darn fun to watch.
