Flyers forward Vincent Lecavalier, who was injured during the line brawl with the Washington Capitals Friday, will miss Philadelphia's game against the Devils Saturday and has been listed by the team as day-to-day with a facial contusion.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie earlier in the day, Lecavalier's injury could keep him out weeks instead of days.

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren also updated the status of Steve Downie, who was hospitalized after getting injured in a separate fight in Friday night's contest.

"Steve is doing better, he remains in the hospital and will be released tomorrow," said Holmgren.

The team says Downie is out indefinitely with a concussion, however, McKenzie reported that Downie may have also suffered a facial fracture of some kind.

That could lead to some lengthy time off.

Downie was acquired Thursday in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Maxime Talbot. Friday night's game was his first game with his new club.

So on top of losing to the Capitals 7-0, the Flyers are down two forwards including their leading scorer. Lecavalier has paced the lowly Flyers so far with seven points in nine games, including a team-best five goals.

Lecavalier already missed three games earlier this year with a lower-body injury.

The Flyers announced Saturday that they have recalled right wing Tye McGinn from the AHL. Prior to being sent down, McGinn scored three goals in four games with Philadelphia this season.
