The struggling Florida Panthers may soon be in the market for a new coach, but a final decision on Kevin Dineen's future has not yet been made despite a late-night meeting Tuesday between general manager Dale Tallon and other members of Florida's management team.

Though Dineen will remain coach, Tallon was certain to disclose that the direction of the team, which has lost six straight, is unacceptable.

"There will be changes though,'' Tallon told the Miami Herald's George Richards Tuesday night. "I don't make rash decisions. None of us are happy. I have to fix this and I will. We're better than this.''

Dineen and his staff are in the final year of their respective contracts. And while the coach has the support of Tallon -- at least for now -- Richards is reporting that others within the organization feel a coaching change needs to be made.

The Panthers (3-8-4) will play eight of their next nine games on the road.
