Jaromir Jagr continues to play and play very well and in the process he continues to notch milestone after milestone and move up the all-time ranks.

The latest milestone for Jagr came just 90 seconds into Sunday's home game for the Devils against the Predators when Jagr threw a relatively harmless wrister on net. In the end it proved to be more than harmless, beating Predators goalie Carter Hutton for the first goal of the game.

The goal marked Jagr's team-leading 12th point of the season and more importantly the 1,700th of his great career. Jagr is now one of just eight players in league history to have reached that mark, and the first European. Imagine if he hadn't spent a few years playing abroad in his career and had more time cut down because of lockouts.

In addition to point No. 1,700, it was also goal No. 686 of Jagr's career, putting him just four behind former Pittsburgh teammate Mario Lemieux for ninth all-time. Not far ahead of Lemieux on the goals list are Steve Yzerman (692) and Mark Messier (694), all of whom are within reach for Jagr this season.
