The LA Kings had a rough night in Buffalo. They thoroughly outplayed the Buffalo Sabres, outshooting them 42-17 but they lost the game 3-2 in a shootout. To make matters worse, they might have lost goaltender Jonathan Quick for some time as well.

With 1:20 to go in overtime, the Sabres were putting some rare pressure on Quick. A shot on goal was saved by Quick with the left pad and then when he went back to cover the post, he started showing signs of discomfort. As soon as the puck was dead the trainers came out, talked with Quick for a while before backup Ben Scrivens was called in.

It's hard to tell what exactly happened with Quick; if it was something on the kick save or if it came when he drifted back to the post. It looked like an awkward meeting.

Quick hasn't been having the best of seasons with a .906 save percentage and 2.38 goals against average in 15 games before Tuesday night but it's still a potentially huge loss if he's out for any length of time.

At this point, there's little idea of how much time Quick might miss, if any.

It should be noted that Quick is also fighting for a spot on the US Olympic team and for the starting position. One of his cheif competitors is Ryan Miller, who was in the other net on Tuesday night and was simply spectacular once again for the Sabres.
