In a hard-fought game between the Anaheim Ducks and Tampa Bay Lightning, goals were hard to come by. Ryan Getzlaf, however, broke the deadlock with an incredibly lucky bounce off of a rebound for the game winner with just five seconds remaining in overtime. The puck barely just trickled over the line.
While everyone was skating to congratulate Getzlaf, Corey Perry was busy crushing referee Ian Walsh, who was just trying to make the goal signal. Skating behind the net looking to make a beeline for his linemate to celebrate, Perry slammed into Walsh, knocking him over and barely giving the downed zebra a second thought.
In Perry's defense, it was shoulder-on-shoulder with no head contact. That's good hockey right there. Also, credit to Walsh who continued to point to the goal line from his behind.
It has been a very GIF-able week for Perry. His thievery of Alex Semin's stick is going to go down as one of the best GIFs of the season. This one should be up there too.
