The Winter Classic at the University of Michigan between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings is now less than a month away. In fact, with the University of Michigan football team done for the regular season, the Big House is already in the process of being converted to an NHL rink for the game on Jan. 1.
It also means that HBO's acclaimed series 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic is right around the corner, less than two weeks from its premier episode following around the two teams through their Deember schedule and off-ice activities as well.
In anticipation of the Dec. 14 premier, HBO, which is getting ready to shoot for the show in earnest, put out a couple of trailers to ramp up excitement for the show (as if it needs any help).
While the annual outdoor game is great, the accompanying series on HBO is as much of a treat or more so than the game itself. This installment shouldn't be any less exciting, especially if Randy Carlyle doesn't restrain his inner Bruce Boudreau.

Not on HBO, coach, not on HBO.
The show will make its debut on Dec. 14 on HBO but will also be aired this year in Canada on Sportsnet (Sportsnet gets everything NHL now apparently).
