VIDEO: Edmonton Oil Kings awkwardly sing hockey-related carols

The Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League are in the holiday spirit and they want you to be, too. The team got all the players together to compile a “greatest hits” album of your traditional Christmas carols tailored more for a hockey crowd and the results are simply wonderful.

Filmed like one of those cheesy holiday compilation album infomercials, this is the holiday album you won't want to pass up.

Among the soon-to-be classic carols, “Corbett the D-man,” “Shutout Night,” “No. 12's Days of Christmas,” “O Penalty,” “Mitch Moroz is Coming to Town” and “We Three (Oil) Kings.”

You've got to give the Oil Kings a lot of credit. They really went for it, including Ottawa Senators first-round pick Curtis Lazar, who played a prominent role in "Moroz is Coming to Town," which is a cheerily ominous song about the team's enforcer.

You can always count on the junior teams to deliver the delightfully awkward holiday hockey fare.

The Oil Kings weren't just goofing around for the holidays, though. The team also had a teddy bear toss Friday, hence the jerseys they were wearing in the video. They collected more than 10,000 bears during a 5-4 shootout victory over the Portland Winterhawks.

So bad singers, but charitable ones.
