Corey Perry is known for a lot of things. He has a Hart Trophy as the league's MVP, his name is on the Stanley Cup, he's one of the best known agitators in the game and he simply produces points. However, what is so often undersold about Perry, despite all of his accolades and production, is just how skilled he really is.

Perry provided a good reminder for anyone who questions that in the dying seconds of the second period against the New York Islanders Monday night. With the Ducks ahead 3-2, Perry took a drop pass from Daniel Winnik and took over from there.

First, Perry toe-dragged Calvin de Haan. The Islanders defenseman tried to trip Perry up, which he did successfully in a failed hip-check attempt. Perry was able to maintain control of the puck, corralled it while on his knees and fired a solid shot. The puck somehow found its way past the outstretched glove of Anders Nilsson and through defenseman Travis Hamonic's legs.

The good players always seem to find a way and Perry has been one of the league's best this season. The Ducks star scored twice in Monday night's game and now has 20 goals this season. His 35 points are good for fifth in the league.
