The Phoenix Coyotes will get their captain back in the lineup soon after nearly a month away while battling illness. Shane Doan has been cleared to play and may be back as soon as Saturday night's contest.

Doan had missed the last 12 games while fighting off a form of Rocky Mountain fever disease, which has typical symptoms of fever, headache, vomiting and abdominal and muscle pain according to the Centers for Disease Control. The 37-year-old forward was treated by the team's medical staff to ward off the disease and returned to practice on New Year's Eve after having to build his strength back up a bit.

According to head coach Dave Tippett, Doan is ready to jump back into the lineup.

Doan was off to a great start to the year with 12 goals and 23 points in 23 games before going down with illness. The Coyotes could really use him as the team is trying to claw its way up the Pacific Division standings from its current position in fifth.
