The new year is literally only a couple of days old but we already have a candidate for Dad of the Year.
In Saturday night's AHL contest between the Bridgeport SoundTigers and the Norfolk Admirals in Norfolk, the puck on the ice was lifted high into the air and over the boards into the stands. That's where a dad in an Islanders/SoundTigers sweater, calmly stood up and caught the puck.
Oh, did we mention he did this one-handed because he was holding a baby in his other arm? Yes, that's kind of an important detail here. Oh, another thing worth mentioning: he hardly even disturbed the baby.
Have no fear, dad had firm control of the baby, he wasn't about to make any blooper reels.
@EyeOnHockey I had a tight hold on my son, I didn't want to end up on ESPN not top 10 for dropping my son. Yes, I was a former goalie in CHI— Paul (@BACHBUS) January 6, 2014
So not only is this dad indoctrinating his child to hockey at a very young age and doing awesome work there, but he's collecting souveniers without disturbing his child. There is so much awesome here, so much that the Norfolk crowd had to cheer a fan in an opposing sweater.
