The Islanders, in their own zone, tried to make a pass up the ice to break out but Frans Nielson's pass sailed right through the legs of Calvin de Haan and went flying down to the opposite end of the ice. With Michael Grabner flying down the ice, icing wasn't going to be in play so Bernier came out to take care of the puck.
Except he didn't take care of the puck at all. He looked like he panicked and just left the puck sitting almost on the goal line where Grabner, still flying, picked it up and beat the scrambling Bernier on the wrap-around attempt.
Definitely not one of Bernier's best on a night when he struggled for the Leafs.
