Fans taking in Thursday night's game between the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and Corpus Christi Ice Rays might have thought they were witnessing a split-squad game instead of a North American Hockey League game between divisional rivals. It was a real game, though. It's just that the visiting Killer Bees forgot to bring their jerseys.

It's probably one of an equipment manager's worst nightmares.

In a tale that will live in junior hockey infamy, the Ice Rays loaned their black road jerseys to the Killer Bees, making the game look like the Ice Rays were playing the bizarro version of themselves.

The Killer Bees actually jumped out to a 1-0 lead in their unfamiliar threads, but Corpus Christi came back and earned a 2-1 win. The two clubs meet again Friday night in the back end of a home-and-home series.

Thankfully, KIII-TV was on hand to document this rather unusual hockey visual.
