After missing the last two games, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin returned in style by scoring his 36th goal of the season against the Montreal Canadiens . It wasn't your typical Ovechkin snipe job though, this one showed some of his good hand-eye coordination.
Stationed at the side of the net, Ovechkin caught the puck on his stick in mid-air, juggled it twice and settled it on the ice before jamming it in short-side. That's just an incredible play.
It's hard enough to do something like that in practice, but to do it in a game is rather impressive. Apparently the best goal scorers always find a way, though.
Ovechkin's 36 goals put him nine ahead of the next closest players. The Caps have to be breathing a sigh of relief that his lower-body injury that kept him out the last two games wasn't more serious. They'll need the captain going at his best if Washington has any hopes of making a run for the postseason.
