When the NHL has its outdoor games, it has to plan for a lot of things. As much planning as goes into it, sometimes, something rather unusual will bring the play to a grinding halt. Such was the case when a rather large moth landed on the ice surface at Dodger Stadium and decided not to leave.
In the third period, a moth landed right next to Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick's net. The linesman came over to try to get rid of it, but that little bugger just wouldn't sit still. The moth escaped the man in stripes, who even tried smashing it with one of the player's sticks. They also tried skating over it to no avail.
After the unsuccessful attempts, they must have figured it was harmless enough as play continued without a hitch. The moth's current whereabouts are unknown at this time, but he sure had a great seat for the last few minutes of the game.
