Jaromir Jagr is still quite excellent at this hockey thing.

In the opening period of the Devils' game at Yankee Stadium against the Rangers, Jagr reminded everybody watching the spectacle at home. With the Devils on the power play, Jagr entered the zone with the puck on his stick and was going full steam toward the net. What he did next was draw goaltender Henrik Lundqvist out of his net, outwaiting the Rangers goaltender, before going below the goal line and sliding the puck right behind Lundqvist to the open crease for a tap-in goal for Patrik Elias.

Amazing that he's still able to make plays like that after all these years. This pretty assist was worth of being the assist that moved Jagr past former teammate Mario Lemieux into 10th all-time on the NHL's assist list with No. 1,034 of his career.

That was actually the second goal of the opening period for Elias, who was the receiving end of another terrific pass. He had the game's opening goal after taking a pass right on the tape from Ryane Clowe for a breakaway and he beat Lundqvist with a strong shot.

Jagr would add another assist later in the period to give the Devils a 3-1 lead, a lead that would be cut to 3-2 at the end of a very fun first period. It's almost like he had been waiting his entire career to play outdoors, which has been a very long career.
