CHICAGO -- Despite driving snow, the Chicago Blackhawks found a way to keep their high-powered offense clicking. They downed the Penguins 5-1 in a rather entertaining, if not always pretty, Stadium Series tilt at Soldier Field.
|A||The Blackhawks were a force throughout the game. It seemed they relished the opportunity to play in front of such a massive crowd and delivered an entertaining result for the home fans. Chicago poured 40 shots on net and simply overwhelmed the Penguins at times at both ends of the ice.|
|D+||The Penguins didn't have much going for them in this outdoor tilt. Only mustering five shots on goal in the first period, by the time Pittsburgh ramped it up, it was too late. Marc-Andre Fleury did all he could to keep his team afloat, but it just wasn't Pittsburgh's night.|
|A||This may have the NHL logo, but it's all about the shovel crew. With unrelenting snow, the team of about 12-14 people shoveling between whistles kept the game as playable as possible. It was rarely perfect, but this was the hardest-working group on the ice in Chicago.|
|A||Jonathan Toews was quite simply the best player on the ice at all times. He was in on the Blackhawks' first two goals, scoring one and assisting on another. He added another goal late and was making things happen just about every shift it seemed. He was clearly enjoying himself, too.|
|A-||Only because he was overshadowed by his linemate, Patrick Sharp may not have been the most standout player, but he was generating a lot of chances out there. He scored the game's first goal on a terrific shot as well.|
|B||He didn't have a ton of work early in the game, but the only goal Corey Crawford allowed was one off the stick of his own defenseman. The Penguins did get shots through later in the game and Crawford finished with 31 saves on the night.|
|C||Marc-Andre Fleury was an awfully busy man throughout the game. In the first period, he was making big save after big save, but he couldn't sustain it under the constant barrage throughout the game. He still made 35 saves in some really trying conditions.|
