Things are going from bad to worse in Vancouver, with the latest being an injury to center Ryan Kesler. According to head coach John Tortorella, who addressed reporters Friday, Kesler will miss "at least a couple of weeks" with a sprained knee.

Kesler was injured in a knee-on-knee collision with Winnipeg Jets forward Jim Slater Wednesday night during the Canucks' 3-2 win.

The Canucks being without their leading goal scorer in a playoff race that seems to be slipping away from them is rather difficult. The team is already without Daniel Sedin, who was injured in the Heritage Classic game against the Ottawa Senators on March 2.

Vancouver sits just four points back of the Dallas Stars for the last wild-card spot in the West, but has really struggled since the turn of the year. Ugly losses to Dallas and the New York Islanders have left the Canucks seemingly in a tailspin, but Wednesday night's win over Winnipeg could have helped stop the bleeding a bit.

Being without Kesler is going to make this uphill battle a bit steeper.

Kesler has 22 goals and 40 points in 67 games this season.
